China Conduct COVID Tests on FISH, Abalone, Chicken, Cat...and even Grass
Shanghai has been intensely battling with the surge of COVID cases and aligning with their Zero-COVID-case policy since late March this year. While the government requested thousands of citizens to have PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test daily, they had PCR tests on a wide variety of creatures with examples below.
From the above video, PCR tests
were done on live chickens, fish, abalones, and a cat.
Did any live fish get tested positive for COVID? No. However in China back in Aug last year, COVID was tested positive in both food packaging and food surfaces in a batch of chilled pomfret fish from Indonesia. That was roughly the time when China began to link COVID cases with to everything from frozen food import to air mail. In Nov 2021, Dalian, leading port for seafood shipments as well as fruit and some meats, ordered all businesses handling imported frozen food to halt operations after a COVID outbreak.
Do you think it is necessary to conduct COVID tests on abalones, cats and fish?
